Telford Centre enjoys 'standout year' as bosses reveal future plans

Bosses at Telford Centre say they enjoyed a "standout year" in 2025 which was marked by strong trading and leasing activity.

The shopping centre said it maintained growth, with sales across the retail complex up by as much as five per cent year on year, while the new year had started positively by welcoming almost 500,000 visitors in the first few weeks.

Joining established brands such as M&S, Primark and Frasers have been recent new arrivals including Mango, Kenji, Lash & Beauty and Savers.

New openings scheduled for the coming weeks include Betsy's Burger, The Look Laser Clinic and Burger & Sauce while Select Apple Premium Reseller is due to unveil a new, larger store.

The centre said it was continuing its efforts on environmental, social and governance matters and would strive to carry on operating as a zero-to-landfill site.

In addition, the team delivered a five per cent reduction in energy consumption year-on-year, an average 60 per cent recycling rate per month with the remaining waste converted to energy from waste, and total energy savings equivalent to 700 domestic washing machines.

The centre also provided £60,000 of free community space.

Looking ahead, a solar energy scheme is scheduled for rollout in the spring which Telford Centre said was expected to generate 1MW of electricity and deliver an estimated 353,000kg reduction in CO₂ emissions annually.

Centre manager Glynn Morrow said: "2025 was a hugely successful year for Telford Centre, driven by strong footfall, rising sales and sustained interest from leading brands.

"As we move into 2026, our focus is firmly on building momentum - continuing to enhance the offer for our visitors, supporting our occupiers, and delivering further environmental improvements that future-proof the centre for the years ahead."
