Shrewsbury Eats giving back with new profit-sharing programme

The food delivery platform said it is among the first in the UK to introduce a scheme which will give profits back to the people helping the business succeed

A Shrewsbury-based food delivery platform is believed to be among the first in the UK to introduce profit-sharing programmes for its restaurant partners and delivery drivers.

The new initiative will see a profit pool created from the adjusted net profits of the business each year which will then be distributed back to partner stores and drivers based on their contributions.

The aim is to encourage long-term participation, reward loyalty and ensure the success of the platform benefits the businesses and people helping to build it.

Shrewsbury Eats currently works with more than 60 local food businesses - including more than 20 exclusive to the platform - and a team of delivery drivers across the county town and surrounding area.

It said the newly launched scheme followed several years of growth for the platform.

Director Matt Young said: "Shrewsbury Eats has always been about supporting local businesses. The restaurants and drivers helping to grow the platform play a huge role in its success so it felt right that they should share in that success too.

"If we can keep more value circulating within the local economy, that's good for everyone."
