Co-operative Travel Management in Telford has seen its quarterly sales soar by 16per cent compared to the same period last year, claiming its business customers are shunning the internet in favour of more personal service.
The company - part of United Co-op Travel Group - believes more local firms are recognising the benefits of booking through an agent rather than going direct.
Alan Williams, branch manager at Co-operative Travel Management in Telford, says its customers prefer to deal with a person rather than a search engine.
He said: "As an independent agent, we offer our clients a valuable and transparent service, generating revenue through the expertise we offer, something that can't be found on the internet alone."
