March 3 date for Whitbourne hedging competition

Now in its 1oth year, Whitbourne Annual hedging competition will take place on Saturday, March 3 at the same venue as last year - Churchfield Orchard, Whitbourne, Worcestershire.

As usual, The Farmer will be sponsoring The Novices Challenge Cup and there will be an Open completion and ladies and an overall champion's cup.

Plenty of refreshments will be available from the Farmers' Wives cake stall and also sandwiches and rolls cut from locally-produced turkey, chicken and duck, accompanied by home-made chutney. All donations for refreshments will go to the Air Ambulance.

"This is our tenth year and everyone who has come in the past has had a great time - so plenty of new faces will be welcomed this year and they will not be disappointed," said organiser George Bevan.
