Body of man, 67, found at aqueduct

A body has been found at an aqueduct on the Shropshire border.

The body of a 67-year-old man was recovered by police on Wednesday at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, in Trevor near Llangollen.

The man, who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "At 5.30pm on Wednesday emergency services attended in the river below the aqueduct where they recovered the body of a 67-year-old man. We are not treating the death as suspicious the matter has been referred to the Coroner."
