Pictures: Fire crews battle car blaze in Shrewsbury

Fire crews in Shrewsbury have been battling a car fire in the town.

The fire on Monkmoor Road, at Abbey Foregate, was initially thought to be a police car.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "We were called to a car fire on Monkmoor Road. It was an accidental fire to a saloon car. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet were used to deal with the incident."

The fire service were called at 12.30pm and were on the scene for about 20 minutes.

There are no reports of any injuries.
