Man collapses after being hit by lorry on A49 in Shropshire

A man collapsed at the side of the A49 in Shropshire after being hit by a lorry today.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Preston Brockhurst at about 7.30am.

The 35-year-old man was walking up a hill in the direction of Shrewsbury when he was hit a white flatbed lorry.

He suffered a head injury and tried to carry on walking but later collapsed.

The man was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident as well as the driver of the lorry who might not have known he collided with the man.

They are urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 80s of January 4.
