Red sky... a Shropshire photographer's delight

As the days slowly begin to get longer, budding photographers around the county will be in heaven snapping away at the stunning colours each morning.

And one sunrise over Shropshire was captured by Keith Reynolds earlier this month.

The bright sky shows the view from off the old railway bridge at the site of the former Kinnerley Railway Station, near Oswestry, looking towards Nesscliffe near Shrewsbury.

Mr Reynolds, 74, from Farm Hall, near Kinnerley, said he had been interested in photography for years.

He said: "I have been taking photos since I was a young lad which is in the early 1950s.

"I'm not a professional photographer but it is an interest for me and I enjoy taking photos of landscapes, friends and relatives.

"This one was last Friday morning and it is just up the road from where we live."

He added: "It is a nice view from the bridge and I have taken a few photos from there over the couple of years we have lived here.

"But this is a particularly interesting one."

Mr Reynolds said he thought the colours were very interesting and added that the image had not been tampered with but was as it had been taken.

He added: "I have a few nice photos from there but none as fiery as this – it is very colourful and unique.

"I'm usually up quite early and always keep an eye out the kitchen window so when the sky looks promising I head out to take some photos.

"But it is all about the luck of that second pressing the button."
