Toy Appeal: Help us bring festive cheer to youngsters

We want donations of new toys to help bring cheer to children who face a challenging Christmas.

The Shropshire Star has joined forces with Shrewsbury-based Storage King for the Christmas Toy Appeal.

Scores of toys have already been donated and we want plenty more so that we can bring some cheer to as many youngsters as possible.

One of the organisations taking part in the Christmas Toy Appeal is Hope House Children's Hospice. The Harry Johnson Trust will also benefit and we will be giving toys to children facing Christmas being treated at Shropshire's two main hospitals.

Both Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Council are also involved, helping to distribute presents to children under their care.

Toys can be dropped off at our offices in Ketley, Shrewsbury and Oswestry during office hours on Monday to Friday.

Storage King is also collecting toys at its warehouse on the Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury.

Please ensure that your toys are new.

We also welcome gifts like books, colouring sets, vouchers and puzzles.
