Dog walker knocked unconscious in Telford

A dog walker has been hit over the head and was knocked unconscious while out in Telford, police have said.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened in the Arleston area shortly before 7.30am this morning.

A male was walking his dog during these times and is believed to have been hit over the head by an unknown person using an unknown object. This caused a loss of consciousness to the dog walker.

Thankfully, no lasting or permanent injuries were sustained but this was an unprovoked and serious incident.

PC 943 Marchant, the investigating officer, said: "We are taking this incident very seriously and are eager to hear from anyone who saw this take place.'"
