Little Sebastian and Noah Marshall, aged five, and Evie and Ella Brimley, four, are among the new starters at Stoke-On-Tern Primary School.

They have joined twins Haylie and Sophie Chapman, aged five, who are now in Year 1 and Daisy and Lillie Balfe, aged six, who are in Year 2.

Heather Russell, headteacher at the school, near Market Drayton, says fellow pupils were proud of their twins.

She said: "I have been at the school for seven years and we have never many had this many twins – it is really unusual.

"It is good to have the twins at the school – they are lovely pupils who we enjoy having.

"Some of the twins we have had since nursery so it is nice to see them grow up.

"The twins in reception are settling in really well at the school. It is a pleasure to have them."

The school has welcomed a total of 37 new pupils as well as three new members of staff this term.

The twins have been busy getting stuck into school life, including their topic on The Gruffalo as well as learning about autumn.
