Kev Brady, 32, from Gloucestershire, is completing the monster challenge for the Superhero Foundation, a charity he co-founded and which assists people who could otherwise not access treatments for mental or physical illness.

The challenge has brought Mr Brady to Shropshire for the first time and he said he had been taken aback by its beauty.

Thursday saw him start from the top of the Isle outside Shrewsbury, before making his way into the town. Wednesday had been his longest stretch so far, completing nine miles in the day.

He said: "It is stunning, absolutely stunning. Anyone who has not seen it needs to come and have a look.

Kev Brady on Twitter:

"I bet there are even a lot of people who live in Shropshire who perhaps don't know about how beautiful it is up by the river here."

So far Mr Brady has raised nearly £2,000 on his Just Giving page and people can monitor his progress with a special swim-tracker, on his personal website www.kevbrady.com

The challenge is expected to last for another couple of weeks as Mr Brady wends his way to Severn Beach.
