A reward of £500 was put up for the safe return of Alice who was taken from the Chirk Airfield event on Sunday.

The money was donated by well-wishers who wanted to help reunite Alice with her owner, Tash Jones, and her two children Kai, eight and Milo, two.

The 30-year old from Ruabon near Chirk had left 15-week-old Alice with her father while she visited a seriously ill relative on Sunday.

Her father tied the pug/shih tzu puppy to a table leg on the stall he was running to help another daughter raise cash for university.

Alice is believed to have been taken by a young boy who was part of a group of men.

A Facebook appeal - Bring Alice Home - was joined by almost 4,000 people after it was shared across Britain and the reward was set up.

The dog was returned today.

Tash said: "Alice was handed in for her reward anonymously which the entire donation fund will go towards. We are still in shock but we are so happy. I want to thank everyone for their tireless efforts in helping us reunite with our baby."

She said the puppy seemed unharmed by her ordeal.

"She is currently flat out on my lap."
