The prongs of the rake went through the woman's foot when she was in her garden in Oswestry on Saturday night.

Paramedics couldn't pull the rake out for fear of infection, but couldn't get their patient in the ambulance with the rake in place.

A crew from Oswestry Fire Station went to help. Watch manager Adrian Bowen said: "

Working closely with the ambulance service we were able to use cutters to shorten the handle of the rake."
