Man, 62, injured by masked attackers in Shropshire burglary

A 62-year-old man suffered head injuries when he was attacked by masked burglars at a house in Shropshire. A large amount of money and a Mercedes car were also stolen.

Police said the burglars forced entry to the home in Longwood, Sutton Maddock, near Telford, and made an untidy search of the property in which the victim suffered head injuries and needed hospital treatment.

The burglary happened between 9pm and 9.11pm on Monday. A large amount of money and a red Mercedes AMG car were stolen from the address.

Officers said the stolen car was later recovered in The Stebbings, Sutton Hill, area of Telford.

Police today appealed for information. Anyone with any information about the incident, or may have seen the vehicle being abandoned is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 640s of April 27, 2015.
