Watch: Half-term fun in Shrewsbury with Snapper Jaxx

There was a day of cosmic fun for youngsters who flocked to Shrewsbury's Pride Hill Shopping Centre for the latest in a series of special themed holiday children's events.

Shooting Stars was the galactic theme as the acclaimed Bakehouse Factory's "Snapper Jaxx team" entertained a host of children aged from three to 11 throughout the day with stories, music and craft activities.

Professor Planetarium and her assistant Asteroid provided star struck youngsters with the chance to take part in an adventure story, sing songs, and get hands on to make something to take home.

According to Kevin Lockwood, manager of the Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres, it was a "stellar day" for all involved.

He said: "The Snapper Jaxx team have again done a brilliant job and there's been a great atmosphere in the centre again.

"The kids really threw themselves into the activities as well and it's worked very well so we're delighted because we do like to make shopping here a bit special for everyone."

The day got a big thumbs up from two of the junior space cadets, Charlie, aged seven, said: "Can you come every day, this is wicked," while Esme, five, said: "This is crazy good."

Stu Bowden, of Bakehouse Factory, said: "We have again had a fantastic, appreciative response from the people here in Shrewsbury and we can't wait to come back here again.

"The children are very well-behaved but they're very, very creative too and we've all had a great time here in the centre again."

The Snapper Jaxx crew will be back in Shrewsbury in May with some weather-inspired fun for "Rain or Shine" at the Darwin Shopping Centre on Thursday, May 28.

All the events are free and run from 11am to 4pm.
