Bosses at La Becasse, in Ludlow's Corve Street, insist their troubles are over and the future is bright.

The restaurant's former owners went into voluntary liquidation but a new company has been formed and the restaurant is operating as normal.

Today chef-patron Chris O'Halloran said everything was running smoothly at the restaurant.

He said recent headlines about the restaurant's previous troubles had led to a number of cancellations and he was keen to reassure people that everything was okay.

Mr O'Halloran said: "Nothing has changed. A new company, called Ludlow Restaurants Limited, has been formed and the kitchen team and the front of house teams are the same.

"We have a full brigade of chefs with seven in the kitchen. We're slowly upping the food to higher and higher standards and the the feedback and comment cards are very good.

"It's extremely busy. There's nothing changed at all. Ludlow Restaurants Limited is not in voluntary liquidation and we are operating successfully."

Mr O'Halloran added that the future was bright for the restaurants, which once held a Michelin star.

He said: "There's no possibility whatsoever of closure. There's no financial difficulties whatsoever, everything is running smoothly and we are looking forward to being in Ludlow for many years."
