Telford & Wrekin Council's trading standards team successfully prosecuted car trader Nasser Khalaileh, also known as Nasser Khalairels, formerly of Redland Cars, Station Hill, Oakengates.

He was not at the hearing at Telford Magistrates Court when he was found guilty of selling an unroadworthy vehicle in breach of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

Mr Khalaileh was fined £400 and ordered to pay £1,422.93 towards prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £40

Soon after the car was supplied in October 2012 the new owner had an accident as the brakes failed when he was travelling down a steep hill. An expert vehicle examiner found it to be unroadworthy.
