About 35 families moved onto the Boys’ and Girls’ Football Club’s pitches at Park Hall seven days ago.
They left yesterday after being served with a notice.

The travelers might have gone but the mess they have left behind has left the pitches unplayable and it's gonna take time and money(to this they are gonna have to raise funds for this) and hard work and community support to get the club pitches playable again and I would be happy to help any way I can with raising the funds and giving a hand on the pitches.

A very generous offer Sam, but why are they allowed to do this, time and time again?
They just turn up on someones land, park up, trash the place then move on, leaving their destruction and filth for the local community to clean up.
Personally, I would block them in, or clamp the lot of them, and only release them when they had stumped up the cost of the reinstatement of the property.
I wonder what would happen if I turned up on your front lawn one night Sam, and caused the same damage. No doubt the police would then be involved, but they turn a blind eye to these "travellers". Are they claiming diplomatic immunity from prosecution, or is it just that the police can't be bothered?

I think, Colin, that it is either the police cant be bothered or the "travellers" have the ace in the sleeve of ethnic persecution: after all it is their heritage to destroy and move on.

It's disgusting what these people get away with. They've tresspassed, littered, damaged property and caused disruption to the football club. What punishment do they get? Nothing. If anyone else set about damaging those football pitches, they'd likely be arrested.

typical response colin ! i dont see what harm they were doing ? they have as much right to be on the land as anyone.

Typical response Jon, from someone who has never been on the receiving end of the travellers actions. Until you have, I suggest you comment on a subject you know something about.

I see the troll season's started early this year - at least old Peasbody's wind-ups are funny!
