People say they are still being left in the dark over the £11 million sale of the Lake Vyrnwy Estate.

Officials at Severn Trent Water want to sell the estate's 125-year lease, excluding the lake.

But although staff at Knight Frank, the agents dealing with the scheme, pledged to provide more information about potential bidders by February, residents have claimed they have still not heard anything.

Today Margaret Hughes, from Llanwddyn, said: "We are so frustrated. We don't know what is happening."

Parties which have already expressed an interest include Bala-born businessman Rhys Jones, the RSPB, United Utilities and Mid Wales Housing Association.

Tom Raynham, of Knight Frank, said: "We are providing Severn Trent Water with all the information to help the process move as quickly as possible and look forward to buyers being announced in spring this year."

Ted Pearce, director of property services at Severn Trent Water, said: "It is vital that the right buyer is found."
