Camera crews will be descending on Church Farm bed and breakfast in Wrockwardine, where owner Sandy Ottley will be teaching other B&B owners the secrets to her success.

Sandy only went into the industry herself a year ago, after previously running a mobile farmer's market stall.

Now she will appear on one episode of Channel Five's new series To Be the Best B&B, offering advice to another Shropshire B&B owner.

Sandy, who has lived in Wrockwardine for eight years but was born and bred in Shropshire, said she never had any plans to go into the hospitality business, but had long admired the Church Farm house.

She said: "To be honest, I live in the village and I love the house. As I got older I thought it might be nicer than standing behind the stall at the markets."

Church Farm was spotted by Channel Five after reading its reviews on review websites like Trip Advisor and bosses felt that Sandy might be the ideal candidate to guide other owners in how to improve their business. During the programme, a struggling B&B owner will visit Sandy, who will explain the way she runs her business, giving the other owner tips they can take away in bid to improve their own guesthouse.

Sandy said the secret to her success is the personal touch. She added: "We think about what we would like to see, and what kind of experience we would like. Also, it is a home, not just a hotel, it is more relaxed because it is a home at the end of the day."

Filming at Church Farm was due to start today with the show on air later this year.
