Sean Lowther, aged 52, stole the money in Telford on March 29 this year. It came after a conviction for stealing £20 of fuel from Trench Lock Services earlier in the year while he was disqualified from driving.

Lowther, of Lodge Farm Caravan Park, Lodge Farm, Donnington, Telford, pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court to one count of theft.

Magistrates jailed Lowther for 18 weeks and ordered him to pay back the money he stole.
