Bristol City’s goal-celebration gifs against Plymouth Argyle are just the best thing

Five different scorers = five different gifs.

It’s perhaps a little early in the football season to be making bold claims such as this, but Bristol City’s goal gifs are quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to the beautiful game.

At home in their first round EFL Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle, the Championship side’s social media team debuted their goal-celebration gifs, and it turns out they’re hilarious.

Here’s Jens Hegeler’s effort – after opening the scoring it’s a self high-five for him.

The reaction was pretty mixed, it’s fair to say.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Fortunately enough, the Robins scored a total of five goals, with five different scorers.

And what does that mean? Well, it’s four completely new gifs for the fans to enjoy of course.

First, it’s Nathan Baker – a classic if slightly forced celebration from Bristol’s number six, here.

Korey Smith made it 3-0 inside 20 minutes, but just wants you to calm down about it.

Freddie Hinds made it 4-0 before half-time, and looks in his celebration as though he’s banging on a window. Perhaps he forgot his keys?

And last, but certainly by no means least, here’s James Paterson who, thankfully, scored with just 11 minutes of the game left.

The football community can only hope the Robins score heavily and frequently this season. How many other gems are there to be discovered?
