This Yaya Toure tweet shows he’s become a proper Mancunian during his time in the north-west

After seven years, Toure has finally gone full Manc.

It’s been seven years since Yaya Toure joined Manchester City, which is the longest the 34-year-old has stayed at any club by some distance.

The journey to this point has seen him play for clubs in Belgium, Ukraine, Greece, France and Spain – but it would appear Manchester has made the biggest impression.

Toure sent out a tweet tailored to the Mancunians among his 319,000 followers, showing he’s definitely been paying attention during his time in the north-west.

Don’t be surprised if you spot the Ivory Coast legend out and about sporting a kagool next.

Fans of the club particularly enjoyed the message, which let’s face it even for non-Mancs is pretty easy to decode.

Many thought Yaya would be on his way last season after seemingly falling out of Pep Guardiola’s plans, but in the end Toure played a big part for City.

That looks likely to continue into next season, with Toure not among those released by City so far this summer.

No matter who you support, surely you can agree that no football really is “bobbins”.
