With not long left until the election Jeremy Corbyn is doing everything he can to make sure young people go out and vote – with the latest tactic being sitting down with Poet and Vuj.

The Copa90 presenters welcomed the Labour leader to their regular Fifa and Chill format, minus the Fifa, to talk about his plans for grassroots football and thoughts on Arsene Wenger, among other things.

Unsurprisingly Corbyn is firmly in the Wenger In camp, meaning that news of the Arsenal boss’s contract extension will probably be music to his ears.

And despite their misfortunes this season he also believes they’ll make it back into the top four next year – alongside Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Corbyn also revealed that he’d seen the banner on the Kop at Anfield, professing support for him, and that he found it “amazing”.

As for the election, the Labour leader sounded hopeful for his party’s chances.

“We’re not ahead, we’re not even totally level – but we’ve got this massive bank of supporters behind us.

“And we’ve got the spirit from them. We’ve got the determination from them.

“10 o’clock, June the 8th, polls close. Result, next day, watch out for it… I’m ready.”
