Images of Manchester City’s players have been projected on to buildings in their home cities around the world as part of the celebrations marking the club’s Premier League title win.

Projections, which were a surprise for the players, took place at 27 different locations over three continents after City boss Pep Guardiola and his side had lifted the trophy at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday following a 0-0 draw with Huddersfield.

Every player who has been part of the title-winning campaign, plus Guardiola and his coaching staff, were represented in the projections, which included an image of the squad on Manchester Town Hall.

Each of the different locations were selected due to having a personal connection with the individual or group whose image was projected there.

Among them were the favela in Sao Paulo where Gabriel Jesus first learned to play football, the beach in Gran Canaria where a young David Silva used to practice his skills, the site of Kevin De Bruyne’s first club in Belgium and a landmark in Germany that Leroy Sane has tattooed on his back.

Projections also took place across the City Football Academy in Manchester to recognise the young players who have graduated from the academy to the first team this season.
