Scotland held on to register their first win over England in a decade and regained the Calcutta Cup with a breathtaking 25-13 win at BT Murrayfield.

Gregor Townsend’s side reignited their NatWest 6 Nations campaign with a stunning performance in Edinburgh to inflict just a second defeat on England under Eddie Jones.

Huw Jones was the star of the afternoon, scoring twice in the first half and making a stunning break to set up Sean Maitland as Scotland held off late pressure to claim their first win over the Auld Enemy since 2008.

Star man – Huw Jones

The Glasgow centre has made a real impact in midfield since breaking into the Scotland team two years ago, and he, along with Finn Russell, was at the heart of everything for the hosts in a stunning first half. First up he needed a bit of luck to claim a loose ball and dive over for the opening try, but a 50-yard break opened the field up for Sean Maitland to score before he stormed straight through the England defence to add his second before half-time, which put the hosts out of sight.

Huw Jones’ early try was the first the home side had scored at BT Murrayfield in the fixture since 2004, ending Scotland’s run of six home matches at home without a try against the Auld Enemy.
