Cyclists aren’t generally renowned for their upper body strength.

But British Tour de France champion Chris Froome tested himself in a friendly arm-wrestle with sprinter Marcel Kittel ahead of the Shanghai Criterium.

Froome appeared to be putting in a lot of effort and his face turned red as he tried to beat 29-year-old Kittel, who eventually came out on top.

Following his defeat, Froome joked that he had taken it easy on his opponent.

Wheras Kittel was keen to have a dig of his own.

The Shanghai Criterium is the end of season race and is held on October 28 and 29.
