He will be playing in the Festival of Rugby League World Cup held in Australia, which starts tomorrow and goes on until July 16. Breeze, who is a senior aircraftsman in the 51 squadron RAF Regiment, has jetted off Down Under as part of a squad of 24 made up of players for all three military services.

The tournament consists of four teams — Great Britain, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand — and is a round-robin format, with every team playing one another with the top two qualifying for the final, and the bottom two battling it out in a third-placed play-off.

Having been born in Shrewsbury, the 28-year-old prop lives in Radley, Telford, but remarkably did not take up the sport until three years ago.
