Last week club owners in the National Ice Hockey League met to agree on the league structure for the upcoming 2021/22 season and, in-line with government guidance on coronavirus, they will now return in September.

It will start with a cup competition running from September 4-26 before the season begins on October 2 and ends at the beginning of April 2022.

The play-offs then take place from April 9-24.

The cup competition is optional and the structure will be agreed once a list of participating teams is agreed. Teams will also be able to organise pre-season friendlies ahead of the cup games starting.

The 10 league teams are all on board for the upcoming season and Telford will play in the north conference of the division.

They will play their four opponents four times home and away and then the other five teams from the south conference twice home and away.

It will total 52 games across 27 weekends and the fixture list is currently being put together, alongside any potential plans for social distancing.
