League chiefs met on Sunday night and decided the game should be declared void, with a 0-0 scoreline.

Tom Watkins’s side were 5-2 winners in Saturday night’s first leg but yesterday's return clash was called off when Whitley’s travel supplier informed the club they would not make the journey to Shropshire in the interests of the safety of their staff and passengers.

The NIHL league management committee heard evidence from Warriors but, with the semi-finals due to be held this weekend, ruled that the quarter-final ties must be completed on the dates set.

Tigers will now face Hull Pirates, who finished the regular season one place above Tigers in second.

It was the second time in a number of weeks that Tigers have had a home fixture called off when the opposition were unable to travel.

Earlier this month the Moralee Division game against Billingham Stars was postponed.
