Both sides were penalised early on with Jets captain Jamie Lewis receiving a two minute minor penalty for interference before Tigers' Charlie Hammerton received the same punishment for holding.

Tigers netminder Zack Brown made some great saves during this period to keep out the visitors.

The hosts went ahead just before the end of the first period when James Smith and Joshua Hustwick combined for Karol Jets to finish.

And the opener was quickly followed with another goal just 38 seconds later from Ben Washburn.

The second period saw the Jets come out fighting for a goal as they looked for a way back into the game.

With shots from both sides again keeping the netminders busy, it was the Jets that found the back of the net after Tigers' Callum Bowley received a two minute penalty for boarding, Jay Robinson taking advanatge.

Jets pulled level in the 45th minute with a power play goal from Andrew Ward after Hammerton received a penalty for delaying the game.

Tigers called a time out with 10 minutes remaining in the game and they continued to push forward and looked dangerous.

And they made the most of a man advantage to go ahead with a Hammerton strike seven minutes from time.

This gave Tigers another boost of confidence and they quickly found the back of the net again through James Smith.

Although Tigers remain in fifth place, the victory means there is now only two points between the top five teams.

Tigers will look to continue their winning streak this Saturday when they host Sutton Sting at Telford Ice Rink.
