The six-time EPL winner signs on with the Tigers for what will be his seventh season in Telford in total, and his fifth season since rejoining from Guildford Flames midway through the 2013/14 season.

Plant said: "I’m really excited to be back with my hometown club for this coming season, and eager to help the Tigers in what will be a slightly unknown challenge in a new league.

"Hopefully we can continue the on-ice success of the last few seasons and challenge for silverware.’

Tigers coach and GM Tom Watkins is delighted to have Plant back again for the new season and said: " It was a simple decision to bring Rick back for the upcoming season.

"He brings so much to the team and the locker room.

"He is obviously a very experienced guy, doesn’t get fazed at all and is pretty laid back, but underneath there is a determination to win, and be as good as he can be every night.

"He turns up every game and is happy to have a ton of responsibility on his shoulders.

"He is a winner and brings that winning attitude with him, which in turn helps to improve the winning culture around the team."
