Denis Bell is returning to the Telford Tigers more mature and ready to be their No.1 netminder, according to head coach Tom Watkins.

The 19-year-old played more than 50 matches for the Tigers’ second string for two seasons in 2014 and 2015, as well as providing cover for the first team.

Since then, he has played for Manchester Phoenix and Deeside Dragons, and Watkins is confident Bell can shine on his return to Telford.

“I think he comes back to the Tigers with a point to prove,” said Watkins. “When he came here he was a very young goalie to be our No.3, this time he is here as our starting goalie.

“There is perhaps more expectation than he has had previously, but I think that will bring out the best of him.

“He is a very confident young man, with the ability and potential to thrive here. He knows Telford and feels settled here.”

And Bell added: “I’m looking forward to being a part of the team, playing for the Tigers this season.

“I’ve played here in Telford before and can honestly say it’s a great place to be, and a great team to be part of.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what the season will throw at me and progressing my game here in Telford.”
