Telford Tigers skipper Jason Silverthorn staying on for another season

Telford Tigers will have Jason Silverthorn returning to the side for next season, after confirming the skipper's re-signing.

The Canadian has been integral for the Tigers over recent seasons, and is now set to embark on his fourth campaign in Shropshire.

"It’s nice to be back in a Tigers jersey again and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead." said the 37-year-old.

"I hope to see all the same faces back in the stands this season along with many new fans, as we prepare to take on this new adventure."

Coach Tom Watkins also hailed Silverthorn's decision to stay on with the Tigers, as the club look to repeat their league success.

"Jason signing back in Telford is huge for the club, the team and the fans." Watkins said.

"From a coaches perspective, he brings everything, every night. He makes everyone around him a better player,he competes hard, has a huge desire to win and is a great captain for our club.

"He has a positive influence on the young players in Telford, he’s a great role model, always happy to offer support and advice to help them develop and improve.

"Jason and his family are settled in the area and that is great news for us."
