Liam Rawlings races away with top club award.

Liam Rawlings was the standout achiever at Owestry Olympian Juniors’ annual awards evening, hosted at Oswestry Cricket Club, earlier this month.

Cross country runner Rawlings (U15), competed for Shropshire in the UK Inter-Counties Championships, where he came third.

Not only that, Rawlings broke club records at both 1500m and 3000m, as well as coming sixth in the English Schools Intermediate Boys 3000m final.

Achievements made all the more impressive as he was running at U17 level and will still be eligible to compete next season.

Rawlings was not the only record breaking athlete in attendance. Jac Williams (U11B 150m). Lewis Bennett (U11B Howler), Jessica Parsons-Hann (U11G 150m), Shannon Wilson (U11G Howler) and Aaron Warburton (U13B 1500m), all broke club records and received trophies for their efforts.

Bennett (U11B), Evie Foster (U11G), Massimo Wyatt (U13B), Seren Roberts (U13G), Tom Hotchkiss (U15B), Anna Rothera (U15G), Anna Holbrook (U15G) and Tyler Mansell (U17B), were each awarded the ‘Outstanding Athlete’ for their respective age groups.

Cross Country runners Jack Tinney (U11), Massimo Wyatt (U13), and Tom Wilde (U17) all received accolades, with special mention to Wilde for representing Shropshire.

Three club members were also acknowledged for their contributions throughout the year. Shannon Wilson won the Lee Morris Memorial Trophy (U11), Ben Rothera awarded the Simon Booth Memorial Trophy (U13), and Tom Hotchkiss won the David Lawson Memorial Trophy (U15).
