Adama Traore calls on Wolves to fight until the end

Adama Traore says Wolves do not take any enjoyment from breaking the 40-point barrier and has urged his team-mates to ‘fight until the end’.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side moved well clear of danger as Willian Jose’s first goal in gold and black sealed a 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday night.

They are now on 41 points with six Premier League games left to play but in-form Traore, who set up Jose, is far from satisfied.

“No, definitely not. We are always focused on the next game, and it doesn’t matter how many points we have, the mentality is about winning every game,” said Traore.

“It doesn’t matter which situation we have through the game, we will fight until the end like we have been doing through this year.

“The target is to win every game. It does not matter which team is in front of us, we’ll work hard to keep improving. This is our mentality.

“It has been a tough year for the team with the injuries.

“But this win is for them and also for the fans because they can’t be here.

“This is for all of them and we will try to keep working towards the end of the season.”

Traore, like Wolves, has endured a difficult season on the whole.

The Spaniard, though, has found form over the last three games, coming up with a goal and two assists.

He feels he should have scored another against the Blades as well.

“It’s about working and taking the moments. It’s about time with teammates, and I’m trying to work,” said Traore.

“I played in a slightly different position, like a striker.

“But it doesn’t matter where I play, each position gives you different things.

“I try to grow in each position the gaffer puts me on the pitch. Personally, I think there were a few actions I could have finished better, but we are happy with the three points and we go again.

“I will keep working to keep improving myself as I want to keep growing as a player.

“It’s how I do, and I keep working. I enjoy it, and I always enjoy it when we win. That is the main thing.”

Traore was also keen to congratulate Jose on opening his Wolves account, feeling it is a reward for the hard work the Brazilian has put in since joining on loan from Real Sociedad in January.

He added: “I’m so happy for him.

“He’s been working hard, he’s had a few chances, but it’s about working, taking the chances and it will go in, like it did.”
