Wolves boss Nuno: Let's keep chasing beautiful moments

Relieved boss Nuno Espirito Santo has urged Wolves to keep chasing 'beautiful things' after finally returning to winning ways on a dramatic night against Arsenal.

Nuno's lot ended an eight-game winless run as they beat the Gunners 2-1 at Molineux thanks to Joao Moutinho's scorcher, while the Gunners ended the game with nine men.

David Luiz and Bernd Leno were both sent off for Mikel Arteta's side, and Nuno hopes the rollercoaster clash proves to be a turning point in Wolves' season.

On doing the double over Arsenal for the first time since 1978/79, Nuno said: "All the achievements are good.

"We did many beautiful things in the past seasons, so we want to emulate them again.

"This comes from hard work from the players, determination.

"We approached the game very convinced on what we had to do. We have very good players that have shown beautiful things in the past, so the standards are very high. We have to chase them.

"We cannot allow ourselves to ever put our heads down. It's been a tough moment for us, but I will not allow our players to stop believing in themselves.

"This was important, so let's prepare for the next one and never put our heads down."

Wolves' confidence appeared to be at an all-time low in the first half.

Bukayo Saka had an early strike disallowed before Nicolas Pepe, unsurprisingly, put the Gunners in front after half an hour.

Nuno's pack were all over the place, but they levelled things up from the penalty spot through Ruben Neves – Luiz sent off for the challenge on Willian Jose.

Moutinho's moment of magic then came before Leno bizarrely handled the ball outside his area and also got dismissed.

"It's very welcome. It means a lot, of course," said Nuno.

"We've been in a tough moment, so it's important.

"You saw how tough the match was. It was very difficult as Arsenal play very good football.

"It was a tough, tough first half and then everything changes with the penalty. The dynamic of the game changes there.

"The referee doesn't have any other option on both situations."

On veteran midfielder Moutinho's stunning winner, Nuno added: "That goal was amazing. I'm very, very pleased.

"The only thing we can be sad about is that the South Bank was not behind it. That would have been magical.

"Joao is such a talented player and gives us so many things. He deserves this moment."
