Mick McCarthy sacked by Cypriot giants APOEL after two months

Mick McCarthy has been sacked by APOEL after just two months in charge.

The former Wolves manager returned to the dugout in November when he signed for the Cypriot club.

APOEL – who are the most successful club in Cyprus – have now lost four games in a row and sit 11th in the table, just one point and one place above the relegation zone.

As a result McCarthy, who last took charge of the Republic of Ireland side, has been sacked.
