The 44-year-old led Wolves into England’s top flight after winning the Championship in his first season in charge.

Now he is aiming to stamp his mark on the league with tougher opponents ahead for Wolves.

But Nuno, who saw his side come away with a point against Everton in their opening game of the season at Molineux, revealed he will not stray away from his attacking footballing philosophies to succeed – instead building on what they achieved last season.

“Honestly no, I won’t compromise my beliefs to succeed in the Premier League,” said Nuno.

“We have to build something. If you can say it is a shape of the team that is able to adapt to all the difficult opponents that we have in front of us.

“But don’t change our beliefs.

“What you believe in and what you work for every day is what we must do under the competition and this is one of the things that we praise.

“We believe in what we do.”

Last season Nuno favoured a 3-4-3 formation and encouraged passing football which proved successful in the Championship.

And he said he will approach games in the Premier League the same way as he did last season.

“Honestly, we believe there is no big change (going from the Championship to Premier League),” said the Portuguese.

“Of course the challenge that we face is going to be more difficult because the quality of the players has increased.

“But we have to think about ourselves.

“And we proved ourselves that we deserve to be here. It is not different approaches on the dynamics of the Championships and Premier League. Honestly they are not.

“It is exactly the same for us.

“Our routines are the same. But we have to be better than we were last season.”
