Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo wants total professionalism from his Wolves players this summer as they plan for life in the Premier League.

The squad have seven weeks off before they return to pre-season training at the end of June.

They have just finished a five-day holiday in Las Vegas to celebrate winning the Championship title. And Nuno says Wolves’ staff will ‘control everything’ as they look to keep their players in peak condition.

“The players are going to rest, they have their own programmes,” he said.“They have obligations on their holidays because this year we have seven weeks of holiday.

“We’re going to control everything and know every technical and physical thing they have to do.

“It’s not only holidays, they have to prepare because June 27 will be the first day we have to improve from this season.

“That will be the first day we start working for the first game.”

After returning to pre-season there will be six-and-a-half weeks before the Premier League campaign begins.

Nuno said there were a number of potentially tough decisions to make before his squad for the new season could start to be put together.

“Now is the moment to really start planning, thinking, knowing and making decisions,” the head coach added.

“Some of them you have to make no matter if it’s popular or not.

“Face to face and telling them the reason for it, but we have to make because we want to keep on growing and getting better.

“Kevin (Thelwell, sporting director), the scouting department, we’ve been working really hard. Finish, celebrate, now let’s get to work.”

Elsewhere, Ruben Neves has been included in Portugal’s 35-man preliminary World Cup squad. Final squads have to be named by June 4.
