Danny Batth: No need to Wolves to fear Prem

The Brierley Hill-born centre half has been with the club since he was a youngster and was part of the team that won the League One title four years ago.

He paid tribute to Wolves' supporters and promised the team would 'give it a real go' in the top flight next year.

"Everything we've gone through makes it so much more worth it," Batth said. "Sticking through the thick and thin means that you get to enjoy moments like this.

"The fans have seen us all the way through and they deserve every moment of it.

"Like them, we'll look forward to next season in the Premier League - there's nothing to be scared of.

"We're going to have a good break this summer and come back and make sure we give it a real go next season.

"I wish I could sum up how this feels, but I really can't put it into words.

"What a day, what a season, what a bunch of lads. Everyone - the manager, the staff, the chairman and everyone else - it's all come together this season and the fans are rightly loving every moment.

"These fans have been through thick and thin, and they deserve every moment."

The players donned Carl Ikeme shirts for their post-match celebrations, while the keeper brought the house down with a pre-match video message to supporters.

Batth said of his good friend: "We obviously wanted to give a bit of love back to Carl and make everyone aware how much we've missed him this season.

"He's a big part of the club and we want to give him our support. We're delighted everyone has rallied round and you hear the fans singing his name every week.

"He might be out of sight but he's not out of our minds."

John Ruddy added on Ikeme: "He's been with us all season. We've done everything for Carl, he's a massive part of this football club and we look forward to welcoming him back in the near future."
