Steve Bull: Good to see Wolves celebrate in style

We didn’t need to get more points to seal promotion on Sunday, but it’s good the players came out and gave the fans a good performance.

It was a great atmosphere at Molineux – the fans absolutely loved it.

I haven’t seen football like this there for a long time.

I was there myself in the North Bank and there were some of the biggest cheers I have ever heard.

Someone spotted me and everyone turned around – it was the loudest I have ever heard the North Bank.

As for the game, I thought we were in control against Birmingham City from the start.

Blues never really turned up. I thought they would have put up a fight, but it was an easy game at the end of the day.

I think we should go on to win the Championship title now. We should go to Bolton and get three points and not rely on Cardiff dropping points and ensure we can win the Championship.

Then we can give other players a go once we have clinched the title.

Looking ahead to next season in the Premier League, I think Wolves will fare OK.

We played Manchester City in the cup early in the season and held them to a goalless draw.

If we can do that to the champions then we can do that to anyone in the Premier League.

If we play the way we have this season and get more players on board then we should be able to finish around mid-table next year.

Wolves have announced new season ticket prices for next year, but if it was up to me I would have probably frozen them. I would be thinking: ‘The fans have stuck with us, so we will stick with you’ and then put the ticket prices up the following year.

Finally, I would like to reflect on the support of fans this season – it has been absolutely brilliant this year.

I say this every year, but the support has been outstanding this season. The fans have stuck with us for the past four or five years and now we have come to the light. I just want to enjoy it now and I look forward to next season.
