Oskar Buur Rasmussen scored an 83rd minute equaliser on his league debut as Wolves came from behind to earn a point against the struggling Tigers.

Wolves were in charge early on after the returning Diogo Jota scored from the spot, but Hull equalised with a penalty of their own through David Meyler and took the lead in the second half when Ryan Bennett put a cross into his own net, before Rasmussen's late intervention.

Sluggish Wolves missed the suspended Ruben Neves and Matt Doherty, with fatigue Friday's energy-sapping 2-1 win at Middlesbrough playing its part.

Nuno said: "It was a tough game, we knew it would be. We started well with some control...second half not so good.

"A draw shows we wanted to react and prove our character, but it wasn't a good performance.

"You just have to look what happened at Middlesbrough, that's a big aspect of today.

"Being with 10 men then nine men, of course today reflects on that. I don't say tiredness but some 'rush' on the decision making that creates some of the mistakes.

"Mentally also, but physically of course because if you look at the space that divides the pitch and split that between nine, it's a lot of distance to run."

Twenty-year-old right back Rasmussen scored minute after coming on to make his Wolves league debut.

Nuno said of the youngster: "He does a lot of training sessions (with us) and played in the Carabao Cup. Tonight was his moment and he helped the team – good for him and good for us.

"It's our work within the club to look at all the teams and prepare and build something. These boys have quality and require opportunities. He had one today and tomorrow he'll be back in the under-23s, nothing changes."

Wolves now face second-placed Cardiff City on Friday in what will be a huge game towards the destiny of the Championship title.

"It's a big game for us and them," Nuno added. "All games are tough – it's the hardest competition in the world."

Diogo Jota made a surprise comeback from injury when he started up front.

Nuno added: "He was fit, he's another option and it's good for us to have all the players available."
