Wolves boss Nuno: Let's prove defeat was a blip

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has challenged his players to learn from their mistakes as they look to get back in the top two with a win at Burton.

Nuno's team travelled to the Pirelli Stadium today looking to bounce back from Wednesday's 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

And the head coach confirmed Helder Costa is ready to again play a part against the Brewers after his early substitution in midweek owing to Conor Coady's red card.

Nuno said Costa understood the decision to withdraw him and added: "We'll see what decision we make but we can count on him and he's ready to go.

"You should take care of the minutes these players have. But he's ready to go much beyond the 20 minutes that he had.

"Helder is doing quite well, we have to manage that he didn't have a pre-season but since he joined the group he's working very hard."

And on Coady's mindset after his early sending off, Nuno said: "Conor's okay. It's situations that happen in a game.

"The best way is to keep being yourself. He's an important guy for us in the way he transmits what we want.

"The best way is to keep being the same and be ready for the next game."

Burton were thumped 4-0 at home to Villa in midweek and are 19th in the table.

Nuno is taking no notice of their league position – and just wants a reaction from his own team.

"We don't look too much at where the teams are in the table, it's not important," he added.

"We look at the characteristics of their team, the shape of their team, what are the dynamics they have. We have to hold that in mind and prepare ourselves.

"(But) most of our time we spend on building our idea and making our team stronger.

"We must react to a bad result – performing well is the best solution. This game is important because it's a good chance to prove we can be much better than against Sheffield.

"It's good to have a game tomorrow, the boys are ready."
