Three wins from five in the league – as well as three clean sheets for the new keeper – has got fans hopeful of a push for promotion this season.

Wolves drew 0-0 at Brentford last time out and now face home games against Millwall and Bristol City after the international break.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will be hoping for maximum points as they look to kick on after a promising opening few weeks.

And Ruddy says they’re on track so far.

“I think two points a game is the target everyone looks at and everyone aims for,” the 30-year-old said of Wolves’ 10-point haul from their first five matches.

“We’re at that target, we’re fourth in the league and I think it’s been a really positive start.

“Bar the Cardiff result, that was a bit of a sour note, but if you’d told us we’d have 10 points from the opening five games we’d definitely have taken it.

Former Norwich keeper Ruddy has made an assured start to life at Molineux.

He joined on a free transfer in July and has already become one of the senior figures in a young dressing room.

And Ruddy – who won an England cap in a friendly against Italy in August 2012 – has been impressed with the desire shown by his new team-mates.

The keeper said of his first couple of months at Wolves: “I’ve settled in really well, they’re a great group of lads and they’ve made it easy for me.

“I like the way the manager works. I like the way the players are hungry for success – it suits me down to the ground.

“Hopefully that’s been reflected in the performances and we’re pushing together as a team.

“We just need to keep that going now – we’re five games in and we’ve got a long way to go.”
