Duo join up with Wolves squad in Austria

New Wolves goalkeeper Will Norris and young defender Aaron Simpson have flown out to Austria to join up with Nuno Espirito Santo's squad.

Norris travelled over after completing his transfer from Cambridge United on Monday.

He becomes the fourth keeper in the group along with John Ruddy, Jack Ruddy and Harry Burgoyne.

Norris was at last night's victory over Werder Bremen and warmed up with the team before kick off but didn't feature in the game, with Burgoyne playing the first half and John Ruddy the second.

It's expected he'll play in one or both of Wolves' games against Viktoria Plzen on Saturday and Jablonec.

Simpson was a late call-up for the Bremen game and arrived at the ground just an hour before kick off.

He got the nod with Ben Marshall missing the match through an as-yet unspecified injury. Kortney Hause also missed the game.

Simpson replaced Matt Doherty after 59 minutes and gave an accomplished display in what was his first ever action for Wolves' first team.

The 20-year-old, who moved from non-league Maidstone in 2015, has been a regular in the Under-23 setup and played in four of Wolves' Checkatrade Trophy fixtures last season.

He joined League Two side Portsmouth in January but failed to make an appearance at Fratton Park and will now be looking to make an impression on Nuno.

Simpson is under contract for another year at Molineux, with the option of another season.
