The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with Wolves having the option of an extra year.

Gladon, 6ft 2in, becomes the second Dutchman to move to Molineux this week after Ola John joined from Benfica on loan. He helped Heracles to a sixth-place finish in the Dutch Eredivisie in 2015/16 and has already scored three times this season from five appearances.

The new man revealed he sought advice from former Wolves defender John de Wolf before making his decision to leave Heracles.

De Wolf played for Wolves from 1994 to 1996 and is fondly remembered by fans.

Gladon said: "I'm a striker but John de Wolf was my defensive trainer at my old club, Sparta Rotterdam.

"He's a very nice guy. He told me some stories about the club and said if you get the chance to go to Wolves then you must take the first aeroplane – don't think about it."

Impressed

The striker said of his Molineux switch: "I'm very happy to be a Wolves player.

"I'm very impressed with the facilities. The difference between here and the Netherlands is big. It's fantastic.

"I spent some time at the stadium yesterday and it looks fantastic. I can't wait for our first home game.

"It was an easy decision to make to come here. The people are very nice, it's a good club for me to be at and I'm very happy with it."

How would Gladon describe his playing style?

"I'm a striker that likes to work hard, I think my speciality is heading the ball," he said.

"Hopefully the supporters will see what my qualities are.

"I've been asked to do my best for the club, to work hard.

"There are a lot of matches in the season so there will be chances and I hope to be important for the club.

"In my eyes, England is the country of football and if you can play there then it's fantastic.

"Of course, I would like to play in the Premier League, it's the first league in England. I hope we can be promoted to the Premier League this year."

Gladon wasn't eligible for today's top-of-the-table clash against Huddersfield.

A deal for Angers midfielder Romain Saiss is still being finalised.
