Chris Seargeant: The New Saints hit another level in win

Interim boss Chris Seargeant reckoned The New Saints hit 'another level' in a 5-0 demolition of strugglers Cefn Druids.

Saints ended a run of two games without a victory with the Park Hall thrashing of the Cymru Premier basement boys, with Dean Ebbe's brace leading the way.

Jon Routledge, Adrian Cieslewicz and new signing Adam Roscrow, with his first for the club, were also on target as TNS recorded a first win since the shock sacking of Scott Ruscoe.

"I wasn't happy on Saturday, although I don't think we got what we deserved," caretaker and former striker Seargeant said of the response from last Saturday's defeat at Haverfordwest

"I thought the intensity on Saturday was OK, it was a step in the right direction, but that tonight was another level.

"That's the intensity we want, that intensity and attacking football is what we want.

"When we're looking after the ball as well, there were times where we strangled Druids, for four or five minutes (with the ball) at times and teams haven't got a chance.

"Teams won't be in the game if you're relentless like that, we're switching the ball, and we have that clinical side as well.

"The early goal makes a massive difference, and if we're not giving them the ball back, giving them transitions from silly mistakes, then teams will find it very difficult."

Ebbe missed a second-half penalty for the chance of a hat-trick but TNS' win saw them remain second, three points behind Connah's Quay.

The Oswestry side have fixtures against Flint and Caernarfon before the division's split.
