Saints have won 10 and drawn two of their 12 league games this season, with Aberystwyth, who are currently seventh in the table, holding Scott Ruscoe’s side to a 2-2 draw last month.

That was a night when the Saints maintained their unbeaten league record for the campaign thanks to a late equaliser from Ben Clark.

Ruscoe, whose team are six points clear of second-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads, who have a game in hand, continued their impressive form with a 1-0 victory at Cardiff Met University last weekend.

As he prepares for the visit of Aberystwyth, boss Ruscoe, reflecting on the last clash between the teams, said: “Credit to them, how they set up and how they played in that game, because they did make it difficult for us and obviously in that game we came back and got the equaliser with Ben Clark.

“Aber have always been a side that can cause us problems.

“They’ve beaten us on several occasions, so we’ve got make sure we’re wary of their threat.

“They’ve got some good players, they’ve got some younger players. They’ve made a few signings as well, they’ve got a decent enough sized squad, so, yes, of course we have to be wary of them.

“But off the back of a good win last weekend we’ll take that into Saturday.”
